RYBELSUS FOR WEIGHT LOSS
RYBELSUS® (semaglutide) tablets, 7 mg or 14 mg, when combined with diet and exercise, are prescription drugs designed to increase blood sugar (glucose) in adults with type 2 diabetes.
The use of RYBELSUS® as a first-line treatment for diabetes is not- recommended.
It is not known- whether RYBELSUS® can help people with pancreatitis.
People with type 1 diabetes should not take RYBELSUS®.
It is not known- whether RYBELSUS® is safe and effective in children under 18 years of age.
Rybelsus is an FDA-approved brand of prescription drug for type 2 diabetes. When combined with diet and exercise, the drug helps control blood sugar in adults. Type 2 diabetes is a disease in which your blood sugar rises too much due to insulin problems.
If diet and exercise do not help you manage your type 2 diabetes, Rybelsus should not be the first medicine you try.
Rybelsus is not approved- for the treatment of type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis caused by diabetes.
Rybelsus has also not been studied- in people with pancreatitis, a condition in which the pancreas is_ inflamed. If you have had this problem before, your doctor may suggest that you switch to another prescription for diabetes.

When you take Rybelsus for type 2 diabetes, you can lose 2-3 pounds. Rybelsus users lost more weight (treatment without an active drug) than those who took liraglutide (Victoza), sitagliptin (Januvia), empagliflozin (Jardiance), or a placebo according to the study. However, the exact number of patients who lose weight- as a result,_ of each treatment is not_ known.
Weight loss will be the result of improved blood sugar management, as well as changes in diet and exercise. It may be the result_ of Rybelsus' digestive side effects (see below).
If you are concerned about weight loss while taking- Rybelsus, talk to your doctor. They can work out a treatment plan with you_ to ensure you maintain a healthy weight.

RYBELSUS® may cause side effects, such as:
Thyroid tumors, including cancer, are a possibility. Talk to your doctor if you experience swelling or swelling in your throat, hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, or difficulty- breathing. These signs and symptoms may indicate thyroid carcinoma. Thyroid tumors, including thyroid cancer, have been produced in rodent studies by surgical drugs such as RYBELSUS® and RYBELSUS®. In humans, RYBELSUS® is not_ known to cause thyroid cancer or a type of thyroid cancer known as medullary thyroid cancer (TCM).
