Saxenda for weight loss

Victoza has been sold in the United States since 2010 for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Saxenda is a higher dose of Victoza. The active ingredient in Saxenda is liraglutide, a glucagon-1 (GLP-1) peptide receptor agonist. It helps people lose weight by giving them a feeling of fullness, which causes them to burn fewer calories.

Compared to 1.2 mg or 1.8 mg for diabetes, the dose for obesity is 3 mg (Saxenda) (Victoza) per day. If children cannot take higher doses, the_ dose of Saxenda may be reduced- to 2.4 mg per day. Saxenda is a daily injection, so if you are allergic to needles, this may not be the right choice for you.
